Inclement Weather Policy

Inclement Weather

It's that time of year again! As the snow season begins, remember to listen to WGOG (101.7 FM), watch WYFF, WSPA (local news channels) and our school district webpage for the latest news on school delays or school closings. We will also update DOJO and our JMB Facebook page as we find out any new information.

Recess Time and Jackets
Recess is an important part of the day for our students and teachers.  Please make sure to send your child with a jacket each day.  It definitely helps to have the child's name on the garment.

Covid Notifications
Starting in January 2021, we will no longer make the schoolwide phone calls when we have a positive case for a student or a faculty member.  Instead we will only email the classroom that had a positive case.  If your child was a close contact, you will receive a person phone call like we have always done.  Please make sure your contact                                                          information is up to date in our systems so you get the proper notification.  You can always look at the Covid                                                          cases across the district at

We are excited to get our bees going again here at JMB. We owe a special thanks to one of our parents, Rannie Bond, for all of his help since the Covid closure to get our bees in shape and harvest honey from our hives. We will have honey available to sell very soon, so be looking for more information soon. Our students had the opportunity to taste some of the honey a couple of weeks ago, and it is delicious!

Keep Calm I Have Good News

FREE School Lunch
All students at JMB will receive free school lunch until December 31.  This is due to the USDA extending this funding opportunity.  Take advantage of our free school lunches!  Don't forget to complete your Free and Reduced Lunch Forms to see if you qualify for free lunches after December 31.  ALL of our students also already receive free breakfast each morning, and they will continue to receive free breakfast all year!

Class Dojo
Class DOJO
JMB uses Class Dojo schoolwide.  Class Dojo is a great tool for teachers, parents, and school leaders to keep in touch and to monitor student behavior.  Teachers throughout the school are rewarding points for positive behaviors.  Students are excited to earn points for themselves, but the great thing is how excited they are to                                                      contribute to their house points.  If you aren't connected, reach out to your child's homeroom teacher                                                                today!

Wearing A Mask
Gotta Have the Mask!
Please make sure you continue to send your child with a mask each school day.  In addition, please make sure you conduct wellness checks each morning before sending your child to school.  We are so proud of our students and how they are practicing social distancing and wearing their masks properly.
